DEATH OF JOHN STANFORD GRANDY

BROOKLIN--The funeral service for John Stanford Grandy, who died at the family residence, Lot 26, Concession 6, Whitby Township, on Tuesday, April 6, was held at the Robinson Funeral Chapel this afternoon. The service was conducted by Rev. M. C. Fisher, minister of Brooklin United Church. Interment was in Groveside Cemetery.

The pallbearers were John Batty, Heber Down, E. C. Croxall, Lorne McCoy, Lorne Stanton and William Williams.

Born at Cavan on May 11, 1900, Mr. Grandy was a son of the late Robert Grandy and Florrice Montgomery. He was married at Springville on August 20,1933.

A resident of Brooklin for 25 years, he had previously lived in the Peterborough district. For a number of years he operated a dairy serving Whitby and district before selling out to Hillcrest Dairy.

He was a member of the Brooklin United Church and of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows lodge at Bowmanville.

Mr. Grandy leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, the former Helen Whittington and four sons, William, Neal, Douglas and Charles. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. George McCrabbe (Annie) of Sarnia.
