DEATH OF RICHARD T. HARRISON

WHITBY TOWNSHIP CLERK

Mr. R. T. Harrison, postmaster at Brooklin, one of the earliest settlers, and best known men in the Township of Whitby died at an early hour on Wednesday morning (Oct. 11). He was a native of Nottinghamshire, England, and came to this country when only 12 years of age. He was a very useful man in this locality and took an active part in public affairs. He was township clerk at the time of his death--an office which he filled for some 14 years, and he also served the township as councillor and reeve in previous years. He was a man of large general information and deeply and deservedly regretted.
